Built to Play 37: HomeBound

This week on Built to Play, we preview E3! Sony rumours, Microsoft rumours and Nintendo rumours galore as we fight for the a perfect video game future. Will Project Beast turn out to be Demon Souls 2? Probably not, but here's hoping it's something equally cool. What about Reggie Fis-Aime revealing that he's actually a sublimation of thousands of carnivorous bees? Kidding! We all know he's actually a robot.

In the second half of the episode we go EarthBound crazy. As part of our localization month, we're going to recount the history of its release in North America. That means we're going to look at everything from EarthBound Zero to the fan translation of Mother 3, trailing its marketing, and growing fan base on Starmen.net

In another catch-up episode, we talk about Andrew Hussie on Namco High, Ubisoft's mandatory online franchising plan, and the virtual console release of Earthbound. Then there was the mountain of San Diego Comic Con news, namely Lego Marvel Heroes, a World of Warcraft storybook and a new Striders game. Plus we have an interview with Mike Gale, the designer behind the recent Kickstarter funded game, Soul Saga. He talks about his experiences working on a miniature horse farm in Michigan and why he went into video games.

The thumbnail image is by Ryuuen and came in first place in the Soul Saga fan art contest.

The interview intro song is Home Above The Clouds by Avi Tran
